Jennifer’s Awesome Sauce

Lately I’ve been visiting a website called The Pioneer Woman a lot. This is an awesome website that documents her life on a ranch and I have been inspired. So in the style of her cooking section, I’ve documented the making of one of my favorite recipes. Okay I’m not going to tell you exactly how to make this recipe, because it wouldn’t be my famous “award winning recipe” if everyone in Cincinnati new it 🙂

Jennifer’s Awesome-ly Delicious Barbecue Ribs

I usually cook about two slabs of ribs. Yeah I’m not good at measuring. To avoid drying the ribs out, I boil them for a half hour. I’ll spare you the picture of what it looks like while they are boiling… It ain’t pretty.

Now for the sauce:

I start out with a cup of brown sugar

And a few other ingredients:

Soy Sauce

Worchestire Sauce

Ketchup

Secret Ingredients- you can try to guess, but you wont be able too. 🙂 Hint: There are atleast 4 ingredients in this bowl.

Cloves of Garlic

I learned an easy way to remove the skin by watching too many cooking shows. Just turn the knife to its side and smash the cloves:

Then I mix all the ingredients together.

And I pour it over the ribs. Note, I am a messy cook.

Next I put the ribs on the grill for 15-20 minutes basting often. And I let the extra sauce simmer on the stove on low heat. It is excellent as a dipping sauce once it has simmered.

I always cook barbecue style potatoes on the grill, but that recipe is for another day. I love the sauce so much that I even pour a little sauce over the potatoes sometimes. I know that makes me sound over indulgent but you would too if you could taste this awesome sauce.
